Workshops > Mathematics and Engineering Education Workshop

The Workshop is focused on exchange of views and ideas amongst those interested in engineering mathematics. We will discuss „for and against“ effects on the mathematical skills and competencies of future engineers in connection to changing learning environments and scenarios caused by the changing society paradigms. Discussions are expected on how to design an effective curriculum of the basic mathematics courses in study programmes for all engineering students as a necessary requirement for the education of qualified engineering graduates.

Topics covered during the session :

o   Innovation and adaptation of maths couses to changing technology
o   The role of mathematics in the engineering curriculum and its relevance to industrial needs
o   Co-operation in the development of maths courses and support materials in collaboration with     technical institutes and industry
o     How to recognise and promote the role of mathematics in the Continuing Education of Engineers
